Hi, I'm Aven!
I write science fiction about people navigating impossible spaces and situations. In my writing I aim to make unexpected connections feel like small, defiant miracles.
My stories are space opera with heart: galactic-scale politics mixed in up with quiet moments, found family, and the strange intimacy of trusting someone with your life when you're lightyears from anything you've known.
When I'm not worldbuilding, you can find me playing video games, reading, or tinkering. I feel that the the best sci-fi doesn't predict the future. Instead, it asks better questions about where we are in the present day.
